Nyangani Renewable Energy (Pvt) Ltd (NRE) has over recent years, developed both a close and fruitful working relationship with Brown Engineering (BE). BE have fabricated numerous steel pipelines (in 12m sections) for our various hydro power stations, varying in diameter from 915mm to 1200mm using steel plate thicknesses ranging between 5mm and 12mm – all of which have also been epoxy coated. In addition, BE have also supplied us with three Power House structures – structural steel clad with IBR roof sheeting, three sub-stations structures and numerous small components (manhole risers, scour pipes & pipe support cradles). We are currently engaging BE for our next hydro project here in Zimbabwe as well as in Malawi and don’t believe there are any entities in Zimbabwe who have developed their expertise/quality control and production schedules as much as BE has in the last five years. We would recommend them without reservation to other similar developers. A summary of our recent contracts with BE are as follows:
- Pungwe C Power Station (2015)
2916m of 1200 NB steel pipe
20.6 x 12.5 steel Power House structure
