Project Overview:

• PPC is the regions premier cement producer.
• PPC Zimbabwe has been a great client of Brown Engineering Group and we have done several structural projects at the Harare Plant and consulted on several others in terms of feasibility in Collen Bawn and Bulawayo.
• Recently Brown Engineering Group undertook the design, fabrication and construction work of a Pit Sand Shed and Gypsum Shed for PPC Harare.

Configuration:

• Taper framed PEB trusses and columns were used on these buildings.
• In order to span over the pit sand and gypsum stock piles, these taper framed structures were around 42m wide with uninterrupted spans with 8m eves.
• Chromadeck 0.47mm Azure Blue was utilised on roof and side cladding.
• These projects had the challenge that they were erected without the stockpiles being moved out of the way, as such very accurate and challenging survey and set out work was required to ensure the jobs were completed without survey related issues.
